On this joyous occasion I remember Durga-kaki and admire her even more for being such a forward thinking person to have started this Mahila Mandal 75 years ago. Hearing about its activities and meeting so many of you during your visit to Pondicherry last year, I can see that her vision in starting this Mahila Mandal, to give a platform for the women of Ugar to express themselves, their creativity and their good ideas - for their own persona progress, the progress of their families and progress of the society in general, is not only being fulfilled, but also in very good hands. Congratulations to all of you and keep working towards these goals. It was also heartening to see how you give so much importance to our wonderful and diverse heritage in all its aspects, natural, spiritual and material and try to instil this love and respect in your families and friends so that together we can make a better India, an India which enriches our lives not only materially but also spiritually. That is the true essence of our country and the main example we can set for the rest of the world.
